Solstice Prayer
“Solstice Prayer”
by Nicole Costa
Wake up
O sleeper
Rise from the dead
Let thy light
Shine upon thee
Through the crown
Of
Your head
The music
Does’t have
To stop
Just because
The instruments
Are gone
Only if you
Let them
Can they steal
Your song
The rhythm
Is in your heart
So feel the beat
Sing along
It’s now your part
Look at the trees
How they dance
How they sing to me
And
The birds of the air
How they fly so free
Under the moonlight
She dances
With the hurt
Singing sayonara
As the
Old life burns
Gracias
Pachamama
Returning
To the earth
The warmth
Of
Your yang
On this long
Cold yin day
Great Spirit
May this land
Be peaceful
May we learn
To dwell
With one another
Value the differences
Learn from each other
Forgive
Our sisters
And
Forgive
Our brothers
May our hearts
Be light
As a feather
May we shine
So bright
Through our souls
Darkest of nights
Winter Solstice
May your rain
Wash us
From our egos
Help us to let go
Of
Fear and pain
That we’ve known
From the illusion
Of
A permanent stain
Teach us
To be humble
And
May we
Never forget
Where we
Have come from
The journey
The lessons
May we not
Take for granted
Our blessings
And though
We are warriors
In Spirit
May our inner child
Be free to play
And
Have some fun
May you soften
Our hearts
May we always
Remember
Through whom
The victory is won
A’ho
